For children and young persons who cannot go back home, Umuntu provides culturally specific
relative, kinship and foster carer support. This aides in nurturing a sense of identity and
belonging. We aim to establish safety and stability for all African-Australian children so that
they can form positive and healthy relationships within their out of home care placements.

Our Carer Support programs support children’s recovery from any trauma associated with
removal and or settlement while building resilience by ensuring a safe, secure, positive and
nurturing home environment is maintained.
